Birth doula · Dubai

Birth doula support in Dubai.

One-to-one, continuous care for your hospital birth in Dubai. From birth planning and comfort measures to VBAC advocacy and first feeds — so you feel informed, supported and held throughout.

The basics

What is a birth doula?

“Doula” — pronounced doo-la — comes from the Greek for a woman who serves. Today it means a trained, non-clinical companion who gives you emotional, physical and informational support before, during and just after your baby's birth. I don't deliver your baby and I don't give medical advice. I help you understand your options, keep you comfortable, and stay beside you the whole way.

Doula vs midwife or OB

Your OB and midwife provide clinical care — examinations, monitoring, delivering your baby — and change with each shift. I provide no clinical care, but I don't leave: continuity is the whole point.

Doula vs birth partner

Your partner knows you; I know birth. I coach them through positions, counter-pressure and what's normal, so they can be confident — and take a break without leaving you alone.

What the research means in simple terms

Studies that compare births with and without a dedicated support person find that having someone with you continuously — who is not a friend, family member or hospital employee — is linked to:

  • More likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth
  • Lower chances of cesarean or assisted delivery
  • Less use of pain medication in some studies
  • More parents saying they felt positive about their birth

A doula does not replace your midwife or doctor, and does not make medical decisions. My role is to help you feel informed, calm and supported so you can make the choices that are right for your family.

Hospital births only

Home birth is not permitted in the UAE. I attend births in whichever Dubai hospital allows doula presence and matches your birth plan.

From early labour to first latch

I stay with you from the moment you need in-hospital support, through the intensity of labour, birth, and the first golden hour.

Evidence-based, not opinion-based

I bring the research, help you ask the right questions, and support your informed choices — no judgment, whatever path your birth takes.

You will never be left without a doula

I take a limited number of clients each month. A trusted, equally trained back-up doula is kept informed about your preferences and would step in only if the situation requires it.

Your partner is part of the team

I don't replace your birth partner — I show them what to do and when, so they can be confident and present, and take a break when they need one.

Complimentary lactation support

As a trained lactation peer counsellor, I include early feeding support at your postpartum meet for every family — whether or not you booked a birth package.
