Hospital birth in the UAE — your questions, answered.

No. Only hospital births are permitted in the UAE. I support you in preparing for and having the most positive, informed hospital birth possible — in a private or government hospital of your choice.

I attend births at any UAE hospital that allows a doula to be present alongside your partner — across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

Most UAE hospitals allow one companion in the delivery room, and a growing number welcome a doula as an additional support person. Policies vary by hospital and by consultant — if needed, I can help you speak with your OB about having me present.

Yes. VBAC is offered in the UAE, though not every hospital or consultant supports it. I help you identify VBAC-supportive providers, understand the evidence, prepare your birth preferences, and advocate for yourself — drawing on my own successful VBA2C.

A small number of UAE hospitals offer water birth or water immersion for labour. Where your hospital and consultant allow it, I'll support you through it — and where they don't, we can plan for comfort measures like the shower, birth ball and upright positions.

I provide continuous physical, emotional and informational support — from late pregnancy, through labour and birth, into the early postpartum days. That includes comfort techniques, positioning, breathing, partner coaching, help understanding your options, and calm, steady presence at your side.

I'm not a medical provider. I don't perform clinical tasks, give medical advice, or replace your OB or midwife. I don't make decisions for you — I help you understand your choices so you can make your own.

Most clients book between 20 and 32 weeks so we have time for prenatal sessions and birth planning. That said, I do take late bookings when I have availability — reach out even if you're near your due date.

From 38 weeks (or earlier by arrangement) I'm on-call for you 24/7 until baby arrives. You can text or call me any time you're unsure whether labour has started, and I join you at home or hospital when active labour begins — and stay until 1–2 hours after birth.

Absolutely. I've had both an emergency C-section and a planned C-section myself. I support families through gentle/family-centred cesareans, help you prepare your preferences, and offer continuous support before, during (where the hospital allows) and after your birth.

As a birth doula, I don't provide ongoing postpartum care — but I do include one postpartum meet to debrief your birth and offer lactation support if needed, as I'm also a trained lactation peer counsellor.

Sessions are in English. If you need translation support I'm happy to work alongside a family member or translator.
